From the Mike Downs Center for Indiana Politics at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (likely voters, 4/14-16):
Jill Long Thompson (D): 47%
Jim Schellinger(D): 41%
Undecided: 12%
(MoE: ±4.2%)
Jim Schellinger (D): 46%
Mitch Daniels (R-inc.): 47%Jill Long Thompson (D): 47%
Mitch Daniels (R-inc.): 48%
(MoE: ±2.8%)
“My Man Mitch” Daniels also uttered a heretical statement in front of a group of Republicans, stating that it’s “time to let Ronald Reagan go.”
WOW! With comments like that, Daniels will be as popular with the Indiana Republican Party as me, a gay, Atheist, liberal Democrat from Georgia.
It must be liberal, gay, atheist night at SSP, only this one is from Boston and has a red beard. Do I get extra points for that?
Does the toll-road issue still rankle? Is either of the Dems well known and provide serious competition? Also what’s the situation with the freshman Congressmen? Will they need substantial DCCC and/or other financial support?

Many thanks, Indiana Progressive, for the update! I guess your report is mostly good news.
At the same time it was the Hill-Sodrel race that I was most concerned about. I can recall election night in ’06 desperately trying to find info about what was happening. I knew they’d swapped seats about every two years for some time and considered it a bell weather. Knowing a bit of their history, I wondered if it is likely to repeat itself (again). I am hoping that Hill won’t need outside financial support since there are so many others that I want to contribute to.
I hope you might keep us updated here about Hill-Sodrel.
Thanks again!
